It is everything we had hoped for! A dozen never-before-seen paintings including the first version of the Conversion of St. Paul from a private Roman collection. We won’t see that again in our lifetimes. (Except tomorrow morning when we have tickets for 9:30am — the opening hour.)
I’m in a really bad mood as a result of a stupendously awful visit to Baffetto — sitting next to some typically excruciating Americans from Florida. 50 minutes from ordering to being served. Given the flood of tourists even at this early season, we should be grateful (but we’re not).
Did I mention the intermittent rain all day today and yesterday? A highlight was lunch at Volpetti’s tavola calda; pix to come when we get back to Paris tomorrow night.
