Sunday, May 23 – Paris: Today is the celebration of Jean-Louis’s 35th birthday so we had a big dinner with foie gras as the main course:
And a wonderful selection of cheeses, including this St Felicien and Epoisse:
In the morning we went to the Champs-Elysees which had been made into a park for the weekend (a three-day holiday for Pentecost); quite a sight:
Late in the day, the need for the wonderful ice cream of Berthillon made itself felt so we repaired to the cafe at the end of the park. The chocolate noir had disappeared from the menu so we had to make do with pistachio:
